AGOS is currently seeking applications to fill three vacancies on the Board of Directors this year.
1. President-Elect
2. Assistant Treasurer
3. At-Large member
President-Elect: The President-elect performs any duties that are assigned by the President and presides in the absence of the President. The President-elect, after serving one year in this office, ascends to the office of President automatically without again standing election.
Criteria:
- Must be an Active AGOS Member for at least five years.
- Must have attended at least five AGOS Annual Meetings.
- Must have served as an AGOS Council member.
- Must possess broad experience in working in OBGYN and be well connected to other OBGYN leaders.
Council members fulfill a fiduciary duty, acting in the best interests of the Society, oversee programs, set policies and the strategic plan to support the Society’s mission. Diversity is considered in selecting members for leadership positions.
Assistant Treasurer: The Assistant Treasurer serves as backup for the Treasurer who routinely approves expense payments, develops the annual budget and works with the investment advisor. The Assistant Treasurer also assists with the financial audit. The Assistant Treasurer is part of the Executive Committee and is required to meet monthly via Zoom (typically on the first Thursday). This position is a two-year non-renewable term. The Assistant Treasurer typically ascends to the position of Treasurer for a two-year term.
Criteria:
- Must be an Active AGOS Member for at least five years.
- Must have attended at least three AGOS Annual Meetings.
- Must be generally familiar with financial statements and budgeting.
At-Large Member: Members At-Large are voting members of the full Council which meets virtually each quarter and in-person at the Annual Meeting. Members at Large serve a non-renewable three-year term.
Criteria:
- Must be an Active AGOS Member for at least five years
- Must have attended at least three AGOS Annual Meetings
